Why It Matters
When you hire a remodeling contractor, you're hiring their habits. Square Built's habits were formed building custom homes from the ground up, where there's nowhere to hide a bad decision and the client can see everything.
We bring that same level of care to kitchen renovations, bathroom remodels, and additions. Proper prep, no shortcuts behind the walls, finish work done right. The scope is smaller. The standard isn't.
"Most remodelers haven't built a house from scratch. We have. That background is why our renovation work looks and holds up the way it does."
What We Remodel
We take on renovation projects where quality matters and the work has to be done right, not just done fast.
Full kitchen renovations handled with the same precision as a custom build. Layout changes, cabinet installation, countertops, tile, plumbing and electrical updates.
Bathrooms done correctly require careful waterproofing, precise tile work, and plumbing that holds up. We don't cut corners on what's behind the tile.
Room additions and square footage expansions require structural work that has to connect correctly to your existing home. That's where our building background makes a real difference.
Full-home renovations where multiple systems or spaces are being updated at once. We coordinate the work so trades don't step on each other and the schedule holds.
What Sets Us Apart
Our custom home background isn't just a talking point. It shows up in specific ways on every renovation project we take on.
Builders know how houses are assembled. When we open a wall or lift a subfloor, we understand what we're looking at and how to deal with what we find, without calling it "extra work" every time.
Substrate, waterproofing, backing, blocking — the things behind the finish that determine whether it lasts. Most remodelers rush through this. We don't.
Plumbing, electrical, tile, carpentry — we sequence and manage all of it. You don't have to act as the general contractor between separate subs who aren't communicating.
We tell you what the job actually involves before you're under contract. If there's a potential surprise behind the wall, we flag it in the proposal, not in a change order after demo.
We treat your home as a worksite and a home at the same time. Work areas are protected, debris is managed, and you know what's happening on any given day.
How It Works
Every renovation project follows a clear sequence. Here is how ours typically runs.
Step 01
For remodeling and renovation projects, we start with a paid on-site consultation. This covers a thorough walkthrough of your space, a candid assessment of scope and condition, and an honest conversation about what the project will actually involve.
Step 02
You receive a detailed written proposal covering scope, materials allowances, exclusions, timeline, and payment schedule. We don't start work without a signed agreement on both sides.
Step 03
Before demo starts, we confirm your material selections so the schedule isn't held up waiting on cabinets or tile that wasn't ordered in time. Lead times matter on renovations.
Step 04
Demo is done cleanly, with protection in place for adjacent areas. Any rough-in work (plumbing, electrical, framing) is completed and inspected before finish work begins.
Step 05
Tile, cabinetry, flooring, fixtures, and trim are installed to spec. We don't rush the finish phase to close out a job quickly.
Step 06
We walk the finished space with you, document any punch list items, and clear them before we call the job done. Site is cleaned and restored before we leave.
